Receivables Management Training




The Receivables Management Intensive Training and Job Placement Services train persons with physical and visual impairment to become collectors, skip tracers and data entry, check collection pre-certification assistants, in cooperation with premiere members of the collection industry. Employment assistance begins immediately upon entry to the training service.


After a head on car collision and lengthy hospitalization, Deloris expressed, “I was at the bottom of the pit both mentally and physically”. Encouraged by her vocational rehabilitation counselor, she came to The STAR Center for evaluation and employment training services. “Now I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life with full independence and the best job opportunities in my career thanks in a large part to the training I received in Receivables Management at The Star Center.”



The STAR Center, the ACA International Foundation, the Tennessee Collectors Association, and the State of Tennessee's Department of Rehabilitation are partners in this highly successful project.  Tennessee Division of Rehabilitation Services counselors identify and refer participants. Interested clients receive a comprehensive vocational evaluation for further screening, where the prospect's academic skills, personality traits and job interests are assessed.

The curriculum is based on training materials developed by the ACA International Foundation and the STAR, and involves approximately 80 hours of instruction and lab work. Graduates receive help with resumes and job interviewing skills. Center
